Many moons ago I was a keen drummer. One of my good friends pointed out that perhaps I could use a chainsaw to create one for myself. I took up the challenge and immediately fell in love with the art of carving.

Man has been working with wood for thousands of years. It's only relatively recently that woodworkers have had access to the ever increasing range of power tools, which have been borrowed, adapted and created for sculpting. I'm constantly on the hunt for new tools and techniques. They play a large hand in the progression of my work.

The other half of the puzzle is studying the form, forming the opinion, and finally expressing it in wood. These days there are so many sources of inspiration to draw from. Whether its the real thing or an image off the web, all my sculptures have a considerable amount of study behind them.

I love my work and hope you enjoy it too.
